Edelweiss Studios was founded by a mother of five, all of whom are home educated, with a deep understanding of both the benefits of early dance training and the gaps that exist in access to performing arts education.
Three of my children began dance at a young age, training in ballet and tap. Through our home education journey, it became increasingly clear how limited structured, high-quality dance provision can be for home-educated children — particularly opportunities that support not only physical development, but also confidence, discipline, social connection and creative expression.
Edelweiss Studios was created to meet that need.
We provide professional dance and performing arts training for both home-educated children and children in mainstream education, offering classes throughout the day as well as after-school and enrichment-based provision in partnership with schools. Our programmes are inclusive and thoughtfully structured to support children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), recognising that dance can play a powerful role in regulation, coordination, communication and self-esteem.
Our aim is to ensure that every child who wishes to dance has the opportunity to do so, regardless of background or circumstance. We are passionate about keeping our classes accessible and reasonably priced, particularly for families who may not otherwise be able to afford private dance training. Too often, talented children miss the chance to develop their abilities simply because opportunities are out of reach.
At Edelweiss Studios, we believe that potential should never be limited by affordability or additional needs.
Our teaching approach prioritises strong foundations, clear structure, encouragement and joy. Children are supported to progress at their own pace in a positive, nurturing environment, with opportunities to perform and, for those who wish, to showcase their gifts
Edelweiss Studios is more than a dance school. It is a supportive space where children can move, grow, connect and thrive — whether dance is a passion, a creative outlet, or the beginning of something much bigger.
